Div - 16 (2017-18 School Year)
Today our class participated in the Computer Science Education Week by doing an hour of coding. Students are also very busy helping with Project Pit Stop. Tomorrow is the last day to bring in those items! Students who have signed up to help this weekend should have received a small handout noting a couple of activities over the weekend:

Many apologies for not updating the blog in over a month. Needless to say, it's been a crazy few weeks and the kids and I have been very busy.
McQueen Lake = Thank you to all parents and volunteers who helped to make our trip a successful one. We enjoyed some fantastic weather and the kids got to learn many life skills as well as receiving some great experience learning outdoors. AGENDA: Writing: "Superhero Paragraphs" - Planning sheet should be done, and students should be ready to start writing their rough drafts. Additional Notes: Thanks to everyone who helped out with skating last week. Even though it was a bit of a crazy start to the day, with the first snowfall of the year, we all ended up having a fun afternoon of skating. This week we are going to be recognizing the contributions of our Canadian soldiers and veterans, with our Remembrance Day Assembly on Friday. Our class will also be participating in the "Postcards for Peace" program, in which we will be writing a postcard to a Veteran, saying thanks, etc. We have also had our first two debates, with the Affirmative side winning both times. Please remember that we are going skating tomorrow. Don't forget to bring your skates, helmet, and gloves, etc. Winter is Coming: With winter soon to be upon us please make sure your child is dressing accordingly. Students are still expected to go outside at recess and lunch (barring extreme circumstances). It would also be a good idea for students to have a pair of inside running shoes inside their lockers.
